Thassos Tourism: Prinos

   Prinos is located at the northwestern side of Thassos and is 20 km from the capital of the island (Limenas). It includes the Small and Big Prinos, the mountainous, picturesque and overgreen village of Kazaviti, that is built on the sides of Ypsario and Skala Prinos, a coastal port area connecting Thassos with Kavala and Nea Peramos.

   Skala Prinos is the most developed touristic area of the community with organized beaches, a small forest and many hotel units.

   The region has great economic value as the extent of underwater oil wells were installed after the discovery of oil.

   In the village of Prinos there are shops, pharmacies and a health center for treatment of simple but also emergency circumstances. The village becomes more busy every Monday, where the large local bazaar takes place throughout the year.
