Thassos Tourism: Rachoni

   The community of Rahoni is divided into Skala Rachoni and village Rachoni. Skala is a coastal area with a clean beach with crystal water and a small harbor.

   Like the other Skallas of the island, it is more developed touristically than the village, as it has accommodation, restaurants and picturesque taverns.

   The village Rachoni is one of the most isolated and quiet villages of Thassos. It is famous for oil production, for the flower honey and sweet karydaki (whole walnut in syrup). In a unique location, surrounded by trees and a beautiful stream, is the Church Dormition of the Theotokos, built in the 19th century and celebrates on 15th August.
